Bendooley Estate Wedding, The Stables
Sinead and Ash were married at Bendooley Estate, The Stables. Bendooley Estate now has two venues on-site and ‘The Stables’ is a new rustic country style venue with a huge barn that looks out onto rolling hills. Inside, a huge iron fireplace sits below modern rustic chandeliers that hang from the exposed beams of the cathedral ceilings. At the other end is the dance floor and bar and there is plenty of space. The barn has been purpose-built with lots of glass windows providing plenty of light to work with.
Bendooley Estate is a winery located at Berrima in the Southern Highlands. The estate has the main homestead and the Book Barn houses a fantastic bookstore as well as the Estate’s restaurant and bar.
I almost always photograph the groom and his groomsmen first as I just find it a lot easier instead of having the bride sit around too long in her dress. Ash was getting ready at his parent’s house not far from Bendooley while Sinead got ready at one of Bendooley’s newly built cottages.
Sinead’s hair and makeup were done by Iconixmobilebridal. As a photographer, I love working with professional suppliers who not only do an amazing job but are efficient and on time. It takes a lot of stress away when you work with professionals.
Sinead and Ash were so hospitable and very easy going. They really did make my job easy along with their wedding party. Even though I have a job to do, it’s always nice to feel welcomed which Sinead and Ash did.
Ash and Sinead were married earlier in the year and the gardens around the stables looked amazing. The ceremony took place at the stables and officiated by Sue Jackman. I love working with Sue as we always have a good laugh when we work together. Sue is another supplier I highly recommend as her warm personality and sense of humour is perfect for a celebrant. Sinead walked down the aisle with her dad and the ceremony had plenty of emotion and laughs. Twisted Stems arranged a beautiful floral arbour which provided a nice backdrop for the ceremony.
Over 90% of my clients are from Sydney who decide to come down to the Southern Highlands for their wedding. The Southern Highlands offers so much with its landscape and European feel. If you’re looking for a rustic, country-style wedding with elegance then The Stables at Bendooley Estate will be perfect.
After photographing the wedding party, I let them go so they can join the other guests while I’ll take the bride and groom for more photos. The great thing about ‘The Stables is you don’t have to venture far and there’s definitely no reason to go offsite for photos. The weather was perfect and I took a variety of images using natural light and off-camera flash.
Once we were finished with the location photos, we headed inside for the reception. The wedding cake was made by Sinead’s sister in law Hollie O’Reilly, and after the formalities and mazing food, the partying began. It was a pleasure and honour to photograph Shay and Ash’s wedding at The Stables at Bendooley Estate, and I would like to thank them for including us on their wedding day.
I’m currently designing Shay and Ash’s wedding album which is a Duo Album from Queensberry Albums. As I’m working through the album, it’s nice to relive their wedding day which I’m sure they both will do for many years to come.
